On-The-Job Training 

Hillsboro Aero Academy is excited to offer a unique opportunity for aspiring aviation professionals. We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team as a Shop Assistant/Apprentice Mechanic at our Hillsboro Campus. This role is designed for those with a strong mechanical aptitude, a positive attitude, and a solid work ethic. As a training position, the goal is for the Apprentice to gain their Airframe and Powerplant Certificates, paving the way for a rewarding career as a certified aircraft mechanic. The role includes assisting certified A&P mechanics, making parts runs, maintaining shop cleanliness, and completing various shop projects.

Hillsboro Aero Academy provides comprehensive training, covering costs for written, oral, and practical tests, ensuring you are fully prepared to obtain your A&P certificate after 30 months of on-the-job training. Requirements include a strong work ethic, mechanical skills, the ability to read maintenance manuals, and a rolling toolbox with standard tools.
